Welcome to Greenfylde First School ​

We are currently showing parents around looking for entry to Reception in September 2019. 

Open Day Thursday 11th October

9.30am to 11.00am and 1.45pm to 2.45pm

School notices

 

  In the event of bad weather causing the school to close a notice will be posted here.  In addition, announcements of closures will be on BBC Somerset Radio (95.5FM) and Heart FM (102)

 
Up-coming Events:
 
Monday 17th September – FrOGS AGM 7pm in the Purple Building 
 
Tuesday 18th September – Individual School Photographs.  Should you wish your child’s photos to be taken with a sibling that does not attend Greenfylde, the annexe will be open at 8.30am.  For Greenfylde siblings, the school will arrange for photos to be taken during the school day.
 
Friday 28th September – Judging for Children’s Carnival, all children invited to decorate an umbrella.
 
Saturday 29th September –Children’s Carnival, all children invited to walk with their umbrellas on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Wednesday 3rd October – No Pens Wednesday – a chance for everyone to improve their speaking and listening skills.
 
w/c 8th October – My Learning Week, books home on the Friday and back by the following Friday.
 
Thursday 11th October - Open Day for new parents 9.30am to 11.00am and 1.45pm to 2.45pm
 
Tuesday 16th October - Harvest Festival at The Minster 2.45pm Reception
 
Wednesday 17th October – Harvest Festival at The Minster 9.15am KS2 (Years 3 and 4)
 
Tuesday 18th October – Harvest Festival at The Minster  9.15am KS1 (Years 1 and 2)

At Greenfylde we strive to give every child a broad, balanced and enjoyable curriculum that lets them reach their potential and experience learning, both inside and outside of the classroom, in a range of creative ways. Congratulations to our Year 4 and accompanying Year 3 singers for their amazing play 'Two Red Hoods and a Big Bad Wolf' at the Warehouse Theatre.
Congratulations to Somerset's Y3/4 County Champions in tennis - Greenfylde! After some superb matches at Millfield the team came through triumphant to take the top prize.
We are all writers at Greenfylde! What a wonderful writing week we have had with visiting storytellers, poets and even real owls and kestrals to inspire our creative talents.
