On the 12th May 2016, we were thrilled when Greenfylde were announced as the National winners in the Government’s Pupil Premium Awards. This is an outstanding achievement for the school and the first time a Somerset school has been a National winner. The award is testament to the effort and enthusiasm shown by all the staff, children, Governors, parents and wider community in ensuring the children from the Ilminster area are afforded the best possible opportunities for their futures.
Although the Pupil Premium awards celebrate disadvantaged pupils including forces children, looked after/adopted children and those who have/have had free school meals it was noted that Greenfylde’s provision also directly improves the opportunities for all children in the school, something the Government is now looking to achieve in all schools.

Our school

Greenfylde is a Church of England First School located in the heart of Ilminster and we are very proud of being part of this community.

At Greenfylde we strive to give every child a broad, balanced and enjoyable curriculum that lets them reach their potential and experience learning, both inside and outside of the classroom, in a range of creative ways. Our Christian ethos underpins all of our work and helps us to create the friendly and caring atmosphere that is felt by the whole school community.

News Description
Children and staff from across the school, including our Pre-School Sunny Ile wore something spotty for Pudsey this week and raised £228.
Prime Minister's question time had nothing on the questions that Greenfylde, Swanmead and Wadham pupils put to our Mayor Cllr Val Keitch in a recent session in the Council Chamber.
We were all very proud of Alfie and Max who represented Greenfylde at the Civic Remembrance Service. They laid a wreath to symbolise how Greenfylde's whole school community thanks and thinks of those who have given service to their country.
