Welcome to Martock Church of England VA Primary School

Welcome to Martock Church of England Primary School website.
I hope you find everything you need on this website but please do contact us at or 01935  823486 if there are any other further ways in which we can help.

Liz Wilson-Chalon

I am really proud to be the Head Teacher of our school - it is a is an exciting place to work and an exciting place to learn. Our children happily come to school each day. When they are here, they are engaged and interested in the lessons and the wide range of activities on offer

We have high expectations and great ambition for all our children. I have been Head Teacher here for six years and the children's progress and their achievements have improved year on year which is lovely to see. Many of the 2016 results showed our children to be achieving  above national averages reflecting great progress from their individual starting points.

We are extremely proud to provide a varied, interesting and inclusive curriculum that allows children to develop as individuals and follow their own interests and passions. We have regular chances for them to do gardening, cookery, creative arts, singing, drama and exploring the local environment. On top of this the teachers and teaching assistants work incredibly hard to make sure each child  progresses in the key skills of reading, writing and numeracy.

In our Key Information drop down tab (above) you will find all the most recent policies and statutory documents. There is  also additional information about our curriculum and information you need on how to apply for a place in our school.

I hope you are able to visit - you will find our school a happy, vibrant and welcoming environment for children and their  families. There are plenty of opportunities for young and old to be part of our school community. We have an ‘open door’  policy and all our staff are happy to talk to parents and carers about any concerns or questions they may have.

Thank you to the parents who completed the recent Parents Questionnaire. We have had a large number of responses and the results can be found on the Governors' page ('About the school' tab).....

We were delighted to appoint Mr Fraser Wallace to be our new Deputy Headteacher in September, we look forward to working with him.

We are also thrilled with our most recent SIAMs Inspection. This Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools take place every five years. In March 2017 our school was graded 'Outstanding' by the inspector. Please find below a link to our report or ask at the school office for a paper copy.

 Kind regards,

 Mrs E.A. Wilson-Chalon MEd
