Teachers Rock Choir

Teachers Rock® is a flagship vocal learning platform that aims to inspire and empower people of all ages, giving professionals a route to building confidence for personal and career development and young people a new opportunity to interact with their teaching staff in a positive collaborative liberating environment.

Teachers Rock® Somerset launched in October 2016 and in just 10 months, under the expert direction of their Teachers Rock® Associate Kirsten Wordley, they have developed new skills, techniques and repertoire to take back into the classroom. Teachers Rock® Somerset have also performed at high profile events across the South West including;  The ICC Women’s World Cup Cricket and Bridgewater Singing Festival at the McMillan Theatre. In September, they will be working
alongside founder and principal of the London Community Gospel Choir, Rev Bazil Meade, with Teachers Rock® members from North Devon, Exeter, Torbay, South Devon and Plymouth as part of an exclusive Teachers Rock® meets Gospel weekend.
Teachers Rock® provides a unique model to support Music Education Hubs, Music Teachers, Heads, Teachers, Music Co-ordinators,  TAs,  Administrators, Governors – in fact anyone who is part of an educational setting and looking to deliver high quality contemporary singing in the classroom. The Teachers Rock® performance programme also provides young people with an aspirational opportunity to see their teaching staff in a whole new light, one might say far ‘too cool for School’!!!

Teachers Rock® Somerset - Testimonials

Bridgwater Singing Festival, McMillan Theatre, Monday 10th July, 2017

I felt compelled to contact you as I attend the McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater this evening to watch my twin daughters sing in their school choir. Little did I know we would be treated to performances from the Teachers Rock Choir Somerset. Two members of which are either existing or past teachers at my daughters school. I was blown away by each performance. You can see true dedication and passion and how much work has gone into rehearsing. The harmonies were just beautiful and in parts made me very emotional. Please pass on my thanks, it was a great addition to a truly special evening. Thank you.

When Teachers Rock Choir Somerset performed it took the evening to a whole new level.  I was blown away. This must be a regular feature of future singing festivals.

Teachers Rock® - Member Testimonials

The CPD experience is rooted in experimental learning so the impact is very high.  All
learning can be translated into classroom practice.

Being part of TRC has given me the confidence and inspiration to lead weekly singing
assembly in my school. It has been wonderful to see the childrenʼs love for singing and
music grow.

Vital in maintaining my own mental and emotional health and reducing stress levels, both due to the effect of exhilarating singing and informal networking
