Safeguarding

For our school community, safeguarding is defined as the need for all of us to do everything that we can to prevent harm to, and also protect, the children in our care.   We seek to integrate safeguarding into all areas of school life and this includes: child protection, health and safety, behaviour strategies and a robust anti-bullying policy, medical needs and the administration of first aid, security of our site, internet safety and safe recruiting.   In addition, our staff are also 'Prevent' (anti-extremism) trained.

In accordance with safe recruiting guidelines, all staff at St Dubricius are subject to a rigorous interview, and reference and employment checks.  Employees are also enhanced DBE-cleared.    All staff undergo Safeguarding Training.

Our school site is secured via door-locking systems, a CCTV system and visitor sign-in system.

Volunteers at the school are also enhanced DBS-cleared, reference-checked (where appropriate) and are also provided with induction training; and they particpate under a Code of Conduct (please note: Governor Volunteers operate under a separate Code of Conduct and Induction process).

Our Head Teacher is a member of the local schools Safeguarding Team who meet regularly to share best practice.
