Welcome to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School
Welcome to our school website - we hope you will find it informative. It is designed to give you an insight into the life of the school.
Our school is a special place where every child has the opportunity to grow and develop in God's love. We challenge each child to achieve high standards through a broad and balanced creative curriculum.
It is our aim that all children will be happy at St Joseph's, that they are confident and have high levels of self esteem, respect for their peers and adults in the school.
St Joseph's is situated in lovely grounds with a swimming pool, playing field and Forest School. We have a large hall with a well equipped stage which provides an excellent facility for productions.
We hope that the website will answer some of your questions. Please Contact us
if you would like to discuss anything further, or to arrange a tour of the school.
St Joseph's School is provided and owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clifton, and is maintained by Somerset County Council. We are a voluntary aided school which means that the Governing Board is responsible for maintaining the Catholic ethos of the school. It caters for boys and girls from 4-11. Our school has close links with St. Joseph's Church in Bridgwater.
St Joseph's runs a house point system which the children join when they start school; they will stay in this house during their time at St Joseph's. The houses are St Anne, St Bernadette, St Francis and St Patrick. The children will receive house points throughout the year for a variety of reasons; making progress, sharing ideas, great work, helping others, extra effort, perseverance and thoughtfulness to name a few.
If your children tell you they have received a golden token, this means they have done something extra special and would have earned their house 20 house points!
Our Mission Statement
The vision for our Catholic school is to welcome and value all within our community, to know and live the faith as expressed in the Gospels, and to challenge and support each individual to achieve his or her full potential in a safe caring environment.
