At Winsham, we teach to the new National Curriculum and ensure that we offer our pupils the opportunity to meet a variety of broader experiences.   As a two class school, our long term planning is on a rolling programme - KS2 has a four year rolling programme for certain subjects, and KS1 has a two year rolling programme.  As well as the National Curriculum, at Winsham we also have a KS2 termly home learning project (e.g. Countries, famous people, food) and termly author, artist and musician which the pupils research and produce work for displays.  Lately we have had David Walliams, William Morris and Duke Ellington.
All children have the opportunity to take part in Forest School activities on our large field  with our qualified Forest School Leader.    We currently have an external coach who teaches PE and sports and runs clubs and the Golden Mile.   Music is a strength at Winsham and we benefit from sessions with Somerset Music Services.  KS2 have learnt the violin and are looking forward to learning the clarinet soon.
Each term we have a different variety of clubs including sports, running, outdoor, choir, sewing and colouring, dance and film.
We regularly have outside speakers and visitors to enrich the children's learning and to foster links with the outside community e.g. A defibrillator demonstration, Open the Book Assemblies and many reading volunteers who come in and listen to all children reading.
We work closely with other local primary schools on planning and joint activities.
